Hongyu Wu, Ph.D,Associate Professor

Hongyu Wu (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in energy and power engineering and the Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. He is currently an Associate Professor and a Michelle Munson-Serban Simu Keystone Research Faculty Scholar with the Mike Wiegers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kansas State University. He was a recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award, the NSF EPSCoR Research Fellow, and a Team Member of the IEEE-NERC Security Integration Project. Before joining K-State, he was a Research Engineer with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Power Systems Engineering Center, Golden, CO, USA. His research interests include cyber-physical security of smart grids, power system planning and operation, building energy management, and grid integration of renewable energy. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid and IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

Bo Liu, Ph.D, Senior Research Associate 

Bo Liu worked as a Postdoc at Kansas State University upon completing his doctorate from Jun. 2021 to Jun. 2022, where he worked closely with Professor Hongyu Wu on developing data-driven cyberattack and defense models in smart grids. In the 2018 summer, he was a graduate research intern at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he worked on the data-driven distribution system state estimation. 

Xuebo Liu, Ph.D. student 

Xuebo Liu received the B.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA, in 2020, where he is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering. His current research interests include home energy management system, machine learning, optimizing, and modeling in renewable energy. 

Yichen Liu, Ph.D. student 

Yichen Liu is currently working towards his PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Kansas State University. His research endeavors are primarily focused on data-driven methodologies, deep learning technologies, and False Data Injection Attack studies.

Timur Aminov 

Timur Aminov received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and mathematics from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA, in 2023, and the M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, USA, in 2022, where he is currently pursuing research in cyber-security, and real-time data simulation.
